New AAUP Staff

The AAUP welcomed four new senior program officers in recent months.

Glenn Colby, the AAUP’s senior researcher, is responsible for the AAUP’s annual Faculty Compensation Survey. His research background includes his last position as director of institutional effectiveness for Cascadia College in Washington and an institutional research analyst role at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Colby is an experienced educator, and he has conducted wide-ranging research on how institutions and instructors can better support diverse students.

Carlton Davids is the AAUP’s new chief financial officer and chief operating officer. He will head the Department of Finance and Administration, which includes the Association’s membership office. Davids has more than twenty years of experience in financial management and accounting. In his last position with the American College of Cardiology Foundation, he served for ten years as senior director of finance and compliance.

Sarah Lanius is a field service representative. Although she is based in Oregon, she will be working with new and established collective bargaining chapters around the country, advising them about contract negotiations and providing training and other resources. Her decade of experience as an organizer has included positions with a Service Employees International Union local and the American Federation of Teachers, where she worked with University of Oregon faculty.

Kwame Martin, the AAUP’s new East Coast organizer, is currently based in Connecticut, where he is working with collective bargaining chapters at Eastern Connecticut State University and the University of Connecticut on membership development and organizing in preparation for upcoming contract negotiations. Martin has extensive experience with labor organizing, most recently for the Fairfax County Federation of Teachers.
