Manuscript Submissions

Academe, the magazine of the American Association of University Professors, welcomes submissions of articles, review essays, and opinion columns as well as proposals for book reviews. Academe explores a wide range of topics in higher education. Our readership includes faculty members, academic professionals, and graduate students from many different disciplines as well as academic leaders, policy makers, and media professionals involved in higher education issues. Academe seeks to publish compellingly written, rigorous, salient, and original articles on the critical issues facing higher education. In addition to longer articles and review essays, Academe editors encourage submissions to Faculty Forum, our members’ opinion column. Academe editors select some articles for online publication only.

Subscriptions

Subscriptions to Academe are included in AAUP membership. All members receive an electronic subscription and can opt in to the print edition. Nonmembers can purchase subscriptions.

Back issues of the print edition of Academe are available for purchase. To place an order, call (202) 737-5900 during working hours and ask for the membership department. Single issue prices are $16 (regular issue) and $50 (Bulletin). Bulk discounts are available.

Academe Blog, an extension of Academe magazine, was launched in 2011 and now has an international audience of thousands of readers. The blog, run largely by AAUP members, serves as a forum for faculty perspectives on higher education and related issues.
