The AAUP Congratulates Our Chapters and Conferences

In order to encourage and recognize membership growth in AAUP chapters and state conferences, the national AAUP announced that it would award travel scholarships to the conferences and chapters who had the highest numbers of new members (both in absolute numbers and as a percentage of the total faculty). The winners, who were announced at the Assembly of State Conference meeting at the AAUP’s annual conference, are as follows:

Top Three Chapters by Numbers

Bowling Green State University (88 new members)
Stetson University (51 new members)
University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (26 new members)

Top Three Conferences by Numbers

Ohio (103 new members)
Texas (69 new members)
Pennsylvania (61 new members)

Top Three Chapters by Percentage

Stetson University (23.35% growth)
Bowling Green State University (11.04% growth)
Lesley University (8.09% growth)

Top Three Conferences by Percentage

Ohio (15.12% growth)
Texas (12.32% growth)
Colorado (10.83% growth)

Winning conferences and chapters will receive a stipend to travel to an AAUP training workshop. In all cases, the contest ended on April 1, 2011.
