PSU Faculty Approve Strike

The faculty at Portland State University voted overwhelmingly to authorize a strike if an agreement can't be reached with the school administration on a new contract. Oregon law requires a notice of ten days before going on strike and the current cooling-off period ends, in early April. A strike date has not been set. The strike vote lasted from Tuesday morning to Wednesday night.

Students & faculty turned out to rally for a fair contract at Portland State University. See a student-made video explaining the issues. Faculty and academic professionals are taking a strike authorization vote on Tuesday March 11 and Wednesday March 12 as PSU-AAUP continues to campaign for a fair contract.
