On June 20, 2013, I attended my last meeting as faculty representative to Kentucky’s coordinating board for public higher education, the Council on Postsecondary Education (CPE). On that day the CPE transacted business that had, over the past four years, become very familiar to me. We approved tuition increases for the eight public universities and the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and gave the go-ahead for three new academic programs.
