Introducing the New, Restructured AAUP

As of January 1, 2013, the AAUP has reorganized into three interlocked entities under one umbrella. This change will better align our legal status with our evolving activities, our changing membership, and our ambitious aims for future programs and services. We expect that it will allow the more vigorous pursuit of fundraising, legislative lobbying at federal and state levels, program development, and union related activities.

The three entities are the AAUP Foundation, the AAUP Collective Bargaining Congress, and the AAUP.

AAUP-CBC Hosts Regional Meetings

The AAUP-CBC held its Eastern Regional Meeting in New York City on February 23 and its Western Regional Meeting in Portland, Oregon, on April 6. The events were hosted, respectively, by the Professional Staff Congress of the City University of New York, an affiliate of the AAUP and the American Federation of Teachers, and the Portland State University AAUP chapter.

Held July 25–28 on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, the Summer Institute included workshops on organizing, faculty handbooks, contract negotiations, shared governance, faculty diversity, and university finances.
